OUR STORY"We feel that music should be that charming element of your special day; it is dramatically moving and stirs the emotions of its listeners. Music can also create a relaxed and fun atmosphere which allows conversations to grow and relationships to flourish. Allowing us to orchestrate the ambiance you desire is one of the many rewarding aspects of our art." - Katherine Bearinger, Second Violin, Vivace Live

Sara Irvine, the founder of Vivace Live, began her music career in 1991 by leading a small string ensembles in the Philadelphia area. Sara’s love for music stems from her father who is a well known Trumpet player in the Philadelphia area. She started studying violin with Linda Fiori at the age of three, and has also been trained by Sylvia Ahramjian and John Eaken.
Since Vivace Live began, it has quickly grown to be a well-established and sought-after string quartet in 5 states. Sara attributes the success of the group to the quality of the musicians who perform regularly and the bond they share. Unlike other professional groups who perform solely as a business, Vivace Live's musicians genuinely experience the excitement of each event that they play for. Their phrasing, intonation, emotional pitch, eloquence, careful planning, early arrival, beautiful musical arrangements, and enjoyment of each others' company makes each performance day a perfect setting for truly beautiful music.

The original quartet of 4 string players has expanded to include 12 more musicians in order to provide as many options as possible for our clients. Sara has been careful to maintain and even grow her performance standards while expanding the group by including only the best performers in the area. She carefully selects the members of Vivace Live and gets to know each musician, their strengths and their unique style. By deeply understanding the musicians, Sara is able to strategically pair musical ensembles with each client to provide the ambiance and experience that will best accompany their special event.
Vivace Live's interests range from performing great classical works to modern day songs. Many members of the group play at least two instruments, beyond the traditional components of a string quartet (2 violins, Viola, and Cello). Their talents are regularly displayed on instruments such as Guitar, Mandolin, Ukulele, Irish Penny-whistle, Tambourine, Piano, and Organ. Hear our recordings of various genres on our "Clips" page.
In addition to managing wedding for Vivace Live, Sara also teaches violin in her home, and has four children with her husband, Josh Irvine.
